October Parent/Teacher support group meeting: Gifted children who don’t like reading or writing.

This session will consider why some gifted children may choose to NOT read or write. Our discussions will be informed by watching portions of the films ‘Outside the Square’ about why some children don’t read or write – or just don’t like to.

June Parent/Teacher Support Group Meeting Gifted children who don’t like reading or writing

Do you know a gifted child who knows more about trains or dinosaurs or Socrates than anyone in Australia – and yet who finds reading or writing difficult?  Or perhaps a child who is a good reader but doesn’t enjoy reading for pleasure?  Maybe a child who can tell a long interesting factually-correct story orally, but balks when asked to put pen to paper and write it all down? This session will consider why some gifted children may choose to NOT read or write.
